Leoni said “I feel quite distant from them. Because I didn’t get that first hug. However, we bonded while I sat beside them in the NICU. Peter and I didn’t grow up with kids. So all we know about them comes from babysitters. Bringing them home is surreal. We have no idea where to start. We had to expand our residence from three to five bedrooms. Initially, the triplets needed 10 diapers and 24 bottles of milk a day, and sometimes we needed 1,000 diapers in the house. We were honored to have caregivers four days a week and support. from our family and friends.”
